FEATURES
DRAMA
THE HIGHWAYMAN - In this reimagined origin story of Alfred Noyes' iconic poem, three childhood friends find their lives spiraling into turmoil as personal hardship, forbidden love, desperate choices, and jealous revenge set them on a tragic course that will end in betrayal and death on a moonlit road.
THESE TEN YEARS - The true story of a coke-dealin' hustler at the end of his rope who impulsively moves to Taiwan. He spends the next decade overcoming his drug-entangled past while finding purpose, redemption, and love as he explores Southeast Asia.
HOME COMING - Rendered disabled in a freak accident, a steely doctor is forced to face the demons of her past when she must surrender her pursuit of international relief work and return home to the rural Shenandoah Valley to be cared for by her religious parents.
COMEDY
AMERICA, I HAVE A LIFE! - The comedic tale of a melodramatic substitute teacher who, after an unsuccessful decade trying to prove her chops on Broadway, attempts to create a reality television show about her life to prove she’s happy being a single thirty-something with an atypical life path.
An homage to the early aughts, this film pays tribute to a time not very long ago when the way we communicated was rapidly changing - but people still left voicemails, used handheld video cameras, and there were only five(ish) reality shows. But perhaps the greatest difference? It was still a time when not just anyone could be a star…or at least not everyone thought they could be!
TV PILOTS
LOVE ME TENDER - Co-created and written with Alice L. Walker. From Elvis’s arms to the front line of 1960’s counterculture, a young woman journeys from dissatisfied teenage naivety to aspiring reporter and exposes the political power chords hidden in the soundtrack of the Swingin’ Sixties. Put on assignment following musicians' rise to fame, she finds her voice through the lens of musical activism as a “World Beat Journalist.”
LAND O’ PLENTY - A retired military colonel fulfills his estranged hippie brother’s dying wish and takes over his failing health food store in order to support the family he never knew he had. His conventional ways of thinking constantly clash with his high vibes family, granola store manager, woo woo staff and boho beach town that is now, improbably, his home.
SHORTS
THE FINAL CASE OF MARIE BERRYFIELD - Mystery and unrequited love come together for one, last goodbye when a hardened private investigator must face his long lost love - a sultry siren who is perhaps the only P.I. more seasoned than him.
Private Investigator Sam McLean is forced to face his former colleague and old flame, Marie Berryfield, when she appears at his office after a long absence, incriminating evidence that solves his latest case in hand. He asks her to stay for good this time: for the work...and for him. But the always-alluring yet ever-illusive Marie is a restless soul whose motives and desires are as mysterious as the cases she solves.
This 12-page parody celebrates the straight-faced and steamy world of film noir. With five characters and few locations and special effects, it could be filmed on a limited budget.
